
Benji Baer
Benji is a globally-recognized marketing innovator and business strategist known for driving transformation and change in large, complex business environments. She’s a customer-obsessed, data-driven marketer who inspires her teams to be agile, adaptable and fearless. By focusing on three levers of growth - company profile, profit, and pride – Ms. Baer is able to achieve strong and consistent business results.
She is currently Chief Marketing Officer for CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, where she is responsible for the vision and execution of the company’s marketing strategy across its three business segments. In 2021, she led the launch of a new positioning platform, “Realizing Potential in Every Dimension,” which crystallized the benefits and value of the firm’s business strategy to clients, employees and shareholders. Benji’s global team encompasses brand, creative, digital, events, partnerships, talent, product, and content marketing all focused on expanding the firm’s reputation, relationships and ultimately, driving revenue by harnessing data and client insights to create market differentiation and brand leadership.
Prior to joining CBRE in July 2019, Benji held leadership positions at J.P. Morgan Chase, beginning as the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, Retirement. In this role, she developed a unified marketing platform for the bank’s complete range of corporate and consumer investment products and services aimed at catalyzing the offerings and positioning J.P. Morgan as client’s strategic partner for long-term financial preparedness.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Baer served as the Head of Americas Marketing and Communications at Legg Mason Asset Management where she launched the new multi-manager investment firm following its merger with Citigroup Asset Management. Benji’s prior roles included Director, Brand Strategy and Communications at Citigroup Asset Management and senior marketing positions at AllianceBernstein and AXA Insurance.
Ms. Baer has spoken at the Forbes CMO Summit, Financial Communications Society, Brand Innovators, The Luminary, and was recently nominated for for the 2025 Forbes Entrepreneurial CMO 50 list. She is a member of CBRE Women’s Network and recently joined the board of Streetsense, a leading consultancy specializing in real estate placemaking and brand strategy. She is a graduate of Tufts University with a degree in quantitative economics.
